About me:
I started making pipes in the spring of 2011 as a way to supply myself with quality pipes and still stay within my budget. After a few years of learning the fundamental skills and engineering that are required to craft an artisan pipe, I now have a full rotation of pipes made by hand. Hinklepipes.com was born from the desire to continue growing as a carver and to continue creating handmade pipes for others to enjoy. I love what I do and I believe it shows in the pipes I create.
My aesthetic has recently shifted to more artistic danish style freehands and a stable of classic designs. I always welcome new projects and commissions. Feel free to contact me via email, twitter, or here within the site. Have fun looking around. I will post pipes in the store as they are completed. If you would like to see more of my work you can check out the pipes I have available at: www.blueroombriars.com

About the pipes:
I use high quality materials in the construction of my pipes. I hand cut all of my stems from ebonite or acrylic rod. I use integral tenons on my stems unless the design specifically calls for a delrin tenon. My stems are drilled at 9/64" with a tapered drill bit and finished with a deeply funneled slot to ensure a smooth draw. Most of my briar comes from Italy, with an occasional block from Greece or Algeria. My finishes are either smooth, sandblasted, or a combination of both. I never rusticate my pipes.
Below is a slideshow of some of my past works. The pipes pictured are representative of my work from the first 5 years as a pipe carver. A newer pipe slideshow will be uploaded soon.
